Support Local Businesses

When it's time to shop, we're all checking the sales brochures looking to save money. But did you realize that a good portion of the tax money to run EHT and our Schools comes from our local businesses?

We need to support them by making as many local purchases as we can, rather than up in Hamilton Township, or at other shopping areas. Each dollar we spend locally, comes back in local tax dollars and benefits our township. If our stores are forced to close up in these hard times, we will suffer along with them.

By helping them, we help ourselves. When you're there, tell them you live and shop in EHT!

Thank you, John Dilks, EHT.COM

Sketches of Egg Harbor Township
Written in 1964

"It is our hope that the children of our school system may learn from these pages and always be aware of their heritage."

                                               Evelyn Ryon Collins, 1964

In 1964 Egg Harbor Township celebrated its Tercentenary. Community Leaders, Long-Time Residents, Teachers, Local Historians, and many others worked for over a year putting together a wonderful history book called "Sketches of Egg Harbor Township," a complete history.

Evelyn Ryon Collins, Tercentenary Committee Research and Librarian, made the following statement in the book: "It is our hope that the children of our school system may learn from these pages and always be aware of their heritage." And at that time, books were distributed to all of EHT's schools and libraries.

Since 1964 Egg Harbor Township has built many new schools. The local and school libraries themselves have been reorganized many times. Most of the original "Sketches of Egg Harbor Township" books have been lost and now this book has become very rare and hard to find, anywhere.

               Your Photos Wanted

Send EHT.COM your EHT photos for display. We want anything about EHT, current or from the past. Here's a chance to show off your flower garden, that vintage car in your garage, your favorite antique, or favorite scenic view you took last year.

We are especially looking for Historic Photos, photos from the past. We want to show what EHT looked like 10, 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 years ago.

We accept Digital photos (scanned or from a digital camera.) Send them to     oldradio@comcast.net

We will also accept photos by US Mail. But please be aware, we can not be responsible for the return of any photos we get by US Mail, though we will try very hard to. Please do not write on any photos, front or rear. Instead attach a yellow Post-it or send text on an additional paper included with the photo. Also include you name, address and telephone number.

EHT.COM

Egg Harbor Twp. -- Many EHT residents have taken time to e-mail messages to EHT.COM's Webmaster. You will continue to see improvements and new features, with more added every week.

Check out the great Recipe Web Site with more than 280,000 great menus. All you have to do is type in what you want a recipe for and you will get several, and sometimes more than 100 different, menus for that dish.

Next is WhitePages.com, the new name for Telephone Information. If you use this, you won't be charged by Ma Bell for telephone numbers. You can also type in a telephone number using Reverse Lookup and see who it belongs to (if it's listed.)

Everybody watches TV, so you can check EHT's TV Guide listings on line. I set it for the Comcast Cable listings. You have to register with TV Guide now to use the free on line guide, it only takes a minute, and you only have to do it once. If you want the other cable companies, or direct by antenna, you can change to those listings when you register on their web page.
